Christmas – 4 Significant Reasons to Celebrate
As we come to the end of the year, many of us will be celebrating one of the biggest holidays of the year – Christmas – and also for good reason. That said, the “reason for the season” has been diminishing or got lost amidst all the festivities. Thus, let us understand why Christmas is so important. First and foremost, Christmas is important because it is the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ, of Nazareth, the Son of God who came to redeem all of mankind who call themselves to Him. On the day of Christmas, God sent his one and only Son to become a man on earth with the purpose that Jesus will become the payment for the sins of the world – past, present and future. Hence, Christmas became a day of both remembrance and worship. As Christmas is an important day of worship and celebration, what does that mean? Please continue reading to find out more.

Here are 4 significant reasons why Christmas is celebrated:
1. Remembering Christ was Born.
The reason that we celebrate Christmas is all because 2,000 years ago, a child was born – not any child but the Son of God, who became the Messiah that had been prophesied for generations. God’s love for mankind, He sent His one and only Son to earth in His
redemption plan for us. Thus, on Christmas, we get to celebrate that beginning and to know what is to come from Jesus’ birth.
2. Remembering God’s Promise was Fulfilled.
God’s plan of redemption did not begin at the birth of Jesus, but it started since The Fall upon where He confronted Adam and Eve after being tempted by the serpent to eat of the fruit from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil.
Through the covenant that God made with Abraham – promising the latter that he would become the father of many nations, that was where it began the genealogy of Jesus. And by sending Jesus to earth as a man, he fulfilled the promise – dying on the Cross and rising up from the dead on the third day – so that we may receive God’s forgiveness of our sins through Christ, faith and grace alone.
3. Remembering His Future
To fully understand the importance of Christmas, you’d need to recognize what Jesus had come to accomplish. And the purpose of Jesus’ birth was to live a sinless life, and one day to lay it down and to take upon himself the burden of sin so that we could be saved. That said, His birth prepared the way for His death, and the redemption of all mankind.
4. Remembering His Generosity
The reason behind giving gifts during Christmas is because of the gift that Jesus first gave us. It is one of the many ways we can demonstrate our love and care for others. Jesus gave generously and by giving generously to the less fortunate, we reflect Him in our lives.
On behalf of myself and the team, we would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Have a good time with your loved ones and remember to stay safe.
