The Art of Conscious Living

Do you know that majority of us are living our lives and carrying out most of our activities in an unconscious and automatic way? It is not about being unaware or literally unconscious, but most of us are not fully aware of ourselves, our actions, and the world around us.

That said, are you actually aware of all your thoughts? And are you in control of how you react to situations? And are you always focussed on whatever you do? If your answer is no, then yes, you’re living an unconscious life – auto-piloting your way through it. However, there is a way that you can undo this and to lead a life that you are well conscious of. Read on to learn what is conscious living and how do you practice it.

“Conscious living is to be aware of what is happening around which includes the people around you and the words they say. “

However, there is a way that you undo this and to lead a life that you are well conscious of.

To do so, you must first need to understand what conscious living is – Living consciously is to be aware of your thoughts and of your actions, your habits and your reactions. Also, it is learning to be more aware of what you are thinking and doing, instead of acting on impulse and reacting without thinking.

Conscious living is to be aware of what is happening around which includes the people around you and the words they say. At the same time, you will need to be aware of the environment that you’re living, acting and working in. And through living consciously, it will expand and sharpen your awareness of deep truths, the meaning of life, your inner self and WHO YOU TRULY ARE as well as a way to your spiritual awakening.

To start living consciously, here are some steps to get you started:

  1. Be aware of your thoughts

We must strive to be conscious of our thoughts – this would mean paying attention to the thoughts that come to our mind. Understandably, we won’t be able to do this all the time, but if we are able to do so several times a day, it is a good start.

  1. Think before you act

Do not rush into anything with impulse or without a thought. Always look at the situation before your respond.

  1. Do not react immediately

Take a few seconds before responding in anger or resentment. By doing so, it will give you some time to regain composure.

  1. Focus and concentration

Always strive to focus in whatever you’re doing. This will help you become more aware of what you’re doing more effectively and with lesser errors.

  1. Practice meditation

Find time each day to meditate, preferably in the morning before you start your day. All you need is just 10 minutes a day to see the difference.

  1. Practice mindfulness

Mindful practices help us to improve our focus and awareness. Also, it helps us to become fully present.
